Pittsburgh Day of Giving

Tell Me a Story

The Pittsburgh Foundation has launched their new initiative, "Tell Me A Story". The story of a former Art Expression Inc. participant, Eliot, has been selected as one of five feature stories. Check them all out here! Sometimes we at Art Expression Inc. are given a great opportunity to learn from the children that we serve. This is one such opportunity... Check out Eliot's Story. Share this with your friends, and help us reach the "Eliots" that exist in every school.

Art Expression Inc. Vice President Lisa Wright participated twice as an expert panelist during the most recent American Art Therapy Association National Conference. Lisa was invited to speak on the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) and the American Art Therapy Associations (AATA) recent designation of Art Expression Inc. as a model program for our nations K-12 schools.

The AASA & AATA worked together to designate programs that have operated successfully and consistently while providing measurable community affects. Information gathered from these model programs was used to produce a Tool Kit for distribution to 13,000 school districts. The Tool Kit provides practical examples on how to implement an art therapy program to address retention, special needs, bullying, autism, socialization and more. The Art Therapy Tool Kit highlights programs that are working in urban, suburban and rural areas as well as funding strategies to put them in place. Art Expression Inc's contribution to the Took Kit included information on implementation tools, outcomes, applications and keys to success.
